Accounts and Admin Assistant

My client is a small global distributer of pharmaceutical products based in a modern office in the heart of Basingstoke.  Due to growth, they are now looking for an Accounts and Admin Assistant to join their small friendly team.  This is a full-time role, but consideration would be given to working part time hours initially.

The ideal candidate will have good administration skills, and whilst some experience in accounting is desirable, it is not essential.

Responsibilities: 

  • Update internal database
  • Create and manage sales invoices and purchase orders on the system
  • Maintain updated records of invoices and office documents
  • Day to day data entry of products, office inventory on systems
  • Tracking budgets and forecasts against client contracts
  • Tracking client payments and bank reconciliations
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and team members
  • Responding to telephone calls and emails
  • Assisting external accountants with accounting queries

Skills Required:

  • Good office admin experience with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Organised with attention to detail and time management
  • Strong numeracy and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a small office environment, often unsupervised
  • Comfortable to progress tasks using own initiative seeking guidance where appropriate.

This role will be office based, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility on working hours.  Parking is available on site.

The successful applicant will be required to take a DBS check and provide 2 reference checks from previous employment.
