Reporting directly to Group FD, The Assistant Group Acountant will support the Group FD by ensuring the integrity of the program and the accounting information by recording, verifying, reconciling, and analyzing the group accounts. 

This will require the job holder to align accountancy practices and standards throughout the group, as directed by the GFD, and make recommendations for improvement. 

Salary £50k to £55k. 

The job holder will need to be willing to work in London, Basingstoke and home as required by the Group FD.  This is unlikely to be a repeating pattern so flexibility in working location is essential.  Some travel in the UK and Northern Ireland may be required on occasions.

This will include

  • Daily bookkeeping. (Low transactional entities) for multiple entities.
  • Keeping track of program expenses and monthly report to GFD
  • Interacting with the local accounting/ops teams to make sure their accounts are consistent as set out by Group policies
  • Ensure accounting standards are considered for all transactions and tax liability optimized, UK and US GAAP
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts including group consolidation for monthly reporting

 

  • Making recommendation for the treatment of the multi-currency accounts and transaction treatment
  • Supporting the Group FD with Treasury for the Group and Opex requirements
  • Risk reporting.  Improving delivery and metrics measured - program level & locally.
  • Integrate a common accounting package, e.g. NetSuite, across all the platforms & programs in Quarter 4 of year and work with group entities to implement group processes and protocol.
  • Working with our partners in the UK, USA and Latin American
  • Administration support to FD
  • Ad hoc project support as required by Group FD

 

The ideal candidate must have:  

Preferably 5 years plus experience of financial standards and experience of multi-currency transactions

Desirable would be knowledge of US GAAP.

Excellent IT skills required including Excel and preferable Power Bi or Power Query.

Netsuite experience would be a distinct advantage

Ability to multi task and manage a varied workflow

Qualifications and Education:  

ACCA or CIMA qualified and a Batchelor’s degree or QBE
