We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and energetic technically-minded person to join our Sales/Customer Service team in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be expected to become involved in all technical aspects of our broad range of electronic and industrial enclosures, racks and transformers.

Technical Sales Support FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, to provide product and technical support to the Basingstoke Sales Desk, Distributors and Customers in the UK and Europe, as well as becoming involved in various marketing activities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides technical assistance for the total company product range (Electrical and Electronic Enclosures, Racks and Transformers) to Distributors, Customers and Sales staff.
  2. Provides answers to enquiries on product information, quality issues and customer product solutions (including quality product issue management).
  3. Assist Distributors, Customers and Sales Desk in determining which  product will best meet the needs of the application.
  4. Provide detailed information, as required, on all  products and policies to Distributors, Customers and Sales Desk.
  5. Perform various marketing projects as and when required.
  6. When required, carry out various Sales Admin tasks including order entry, shipments and customer enquiries.
  7. Complete NPI spreadsheets for Distributors and follow up to ensure implementation.
  8. Manage a product materials specification database ensuring we have the latest data for customer enquiries.
  9. Complete customer supply questionnaires ensuring accurate information for all questions.
  10. Receive, log, monitor and resolve all enquiries relating to product quality.
  11. Proactive outbound sales calls to existing/new customers.
  12. Carry out reviews of Distributor listing/websites.
  13. Visit Customers, Distributors and Exhibitions when required.
  14. Competitor research to include pricing and product analysis.
  15. Review markets for new design ideas and report customer feedback and suggestions to management.
  16. Perform other tasks as directed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  1. BTEC Engineering Stage 4 as a minimum qualification; Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in Engineering preferred.
  2. Able to read and understand mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings.  An understanding of Transformers and Analogue/Digital circuitry is desirable.
  3. Good level of numeracy and literacy.
  4. Good communicator at all levels.
  5. Previous marketing experience advantageous.
  6. Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  7. Clean full Driving License.
  8. Pleasant outgoing personality.
